Progeny were born in November 1999 for a common passion of guitar-man Marco Santaniello and drummer Luca Arosio for Dream Theater. In the meanwhile "scenes from a memory" was published, they tried to play "Overture 1928" and all the feelings they sensed while playing that song pushed them to found a real tribute to their favorite group. They had to face some difficulties, the need of representing Dream Theater songs as faithful as possible moved them to the continuous request of elements who could be not only good musicians but who also had a great passion for this group. After having changed 3 bassmen, 3 keybords-players and 3 singers in 4 years, Progeny finally found out a stable and tight formation with FAb DeVille at the voice, Luca Barducco at the bass guitar and Nicola Leonesio at the keyboards and they started having their first approval from the public and from the most faithful Dream Theater's fans.
The care with which Progeny faced a so difficult tribute brought them to be invited to very important musical shows like the "Guitar Day" to which participated artist like Andy Timmons, and they had the honor of performing before mr Jordan Rudess, Dream Theater's keybords player, who had a lot of positive opinions for the band. The band boast currently a very intense activity both in Italy and abroad, proposing a vaste music repertory continuously changing, lasting 3 hours, re-covering the history of this exceptional band, starting from When dream and day unite" to Systematic Chaos",Last Dream Theater's masterpiece. Even if they always cultivate the same old passion for their favorite band, Progeny are currently looking forward to give a decisive breakthrough to their musical path by composing their own music.
